Web Sites for Teachers The number of resources for teachers on the web is growing at a tremendous rate – lesson plans, activities, ideas, thematic units, and web sites of other web sites.
Please choose at least three general teacher web sites and evaluate them. A list of sites has been provided to you, but you may go “off list” too as well.
When evaluating a web site, consider ease of navigation of the site, type of content, grade level appropriateness, links, quality of the information and general impressions.
Search Engines for Children
As educators, we want children to use the web as a resource, but we also want them to be safe, focused, and productive when searching.
Please review at least three search engines for children. A list has been provided, but you are welcome to find sites of your own.
When reviewing the search engine, consider types of hits returned, readability level, content, ease of use. Try searching for the same topic on different sites and see what is returned. Make sure that you read the “About Us” section if there is one and read about specific search tips for each site.
